Hanging Rail

When designing the interior layout of a wardrobe we would always recommend not including a hanging rail more than 1200mm in length. It is important that our wardrobes stand the test of time and if a hanging rail over this length is used it is likely to bow over time with the weight of the clothes. Any hanging rail over 1000mm in length would require a shelf above it so a support bracket can be used to support the hanging rail at the middle point. Division panels or interior shelf/drawer units can be used to break up a length of hanging rail to ensure it doesn’t exceed the maximum length of 1200mm.

When considering how much┬áhanging rail space you need inside your wardrobe it’s a good idea to measure the length of hanging space you currently have and decide if this meets your requirements. If you need more space to hang your clothes, you could make use of more sections of double hanging (see left section of wardrobe) rather than single hanging (see right section of wardrobe).
